Rasila Raju,aged 26, a systems engineer, from Kerala, was found dead at the Infosys office in Pune on 29 Jan 2017 Sunday around 10PM. She had been strangled with a computer cable, by a security guard, while she was working on her day off.
The Police has said that while Rasila was working on a 2pm to 11pm shift, and was alone in a room in the Pune office at 9th floor, was killed by a security guard in a fit of rage after she had accused him of staring at her and threatened to complain against him. The security guard has been arrested in Mumbai when attempting an escape.
But the victim’s family believes that there has been foul play in the case, and alleged that the company was covering up certain things in the case. Her father told media persons that she had complained to her family about the alleged pestering by a superior and she was very disturbed about it, compelling her to seek a transfer to Bengaluru. He also raises questions about inadequacies in security.
At this juncture when Infosys Pune Campus has come, for the second time, under the spotlight for no good reasons (the first being the incident when a Canteen Cashier was raped by a housekeeping staff at female restroom during night shift on Sunday Dec 27,2015), several very important questions need to be answered by the Company.
Her body was inside the conference hall. How did she reach there?
Do security guards have access to these places? If not was someone else involved and is that person being shielded?
Why was she called on a Sunday to work alone despite inadequate security with no female security guard?
Was there any sexual harassment complaints from Rasila? What was the action taken by Internal Complaints Committee at Infosys Pune?
Who is that person with whom she had problems in receiving her relieving orders, in spite of the transfer? Why he is not being investigated?

1) Conduct thorough Investigation on Infosys Pune Management to ensure Justice for Rasila.
2) Take serious action against Infosys management for violations of laws of the land to ensure women safety at workplaces.
3) Ensure strict implementation of the SHWP (Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplaces. Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 in all IT companies. The concerned government deptartments to publicize the act and take penal action for non implementation of the Act.
4) Setup Monitoring Committee to ensure unbiased and transparent functioning of the Internal Complaints Committees at Workplaces under SHWP (Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplaces. Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013
